How appropriate to be attending a live show last night here in Atlanta, Georgia... and to see the member of a band that of course was introduced to my ears by WNEW-FM the first time I heard them... From the Beginning, Tarkus or Lucky Man...
Greg Lake is here at the Variety Playhouse... a cozy venue like the Last Chance Saloon in Poguhkeepsie, New York... And also appropriate as a tribute to Pete and... Scotso... one of those things from England... ELP was... like King Crimson and Atomic Rooster and the first time I saw them play was at Fordham University in Da Bronx with time to have a White Castle with cheese around the corner on Fordham Road... and then watch Keith Emerson spin around in a contraption that would make you dizzy as he played.. at all places... Gaelic Park... a soccer field in Da Bronx !
