Imagine.... it is 1967... some 45 years ago...
You pick up a 33 1/3 lp at the record store... not a 45 rpm record... a 12 inch record with lots of songs to listen to...
One in particular "Nights in White Satin" was longer than the abbreviated one played on the radio.. then "Tuesday Afternoon" and thus begins a trip through life "Days of Future Passed" sheer profundity...
As they celebrate 45 years of music the Moody Blues came through Atlanta last night... the Fabulous Fox theatre... a depression era rococo Moroccan splendid venue replete with false blue twilight sky overhead and twinkling stars... outdoors indoors... and a well done show of such memories from "Days of Passed Futures"...
Graeme Edge came forward for '"Higher and Higher" as always to climb to tranquility reaching for the moon as in 1969, then to explain that considering he took Viagra that nothing has changed at 70 years of age... since Woodstock... landing on the moon... and the Viagra side effects...
it's still sex, drugs and rock and roll.. . .

What's in a name...
What's in a name... funny how an internet news website will unexpectedly display an old friends name and as it appears it is wholly embodied in someone else... again...
A story that was perhaps overlooked this week by "Hunger Games" none the less... with an interest that would bring back childhood memories of "On the Beach", this story had a similar scenario as that with which Fred Astaire was at the wheel but not besides Willem Defoe... but rather it was Delancey Street in this one and that story required a trip to Australia for the end... to arrive... again.

Never doubt ...
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” — Margaret Mead

Here is a rather polite mathematical observation on the state of our nations debate... for those that you read who are in danger of losing a home in the “mortgage crisis”…
Why is it that when we buy a home appraised at fair market value for $336,000 and take a $150,000 mortgage, we own 55% of the home and the bank then owns 45%...
The economy and the market fails and falls and the home is then ...appraised at $226,000 and you now own 33% of the home and the bank now owns 67%... the loan to value does not adjust as your equity to value adjusts... upside?
Consequentially Americans need to refinance to lower their payments so they will not fall into foreclosure...
For the bank who has no risk in the fall of the economy has a preferred position now in your home and has profited on the fall of the economy and your home’s value as they now have a larger % of ownership...
Never mind that you got there because of the banks and their practices... never mind the government felt they were too big to fail and decided to give them money to protect their positions while you have gone unprotected and absorb the loss... pay the additional taxes to cover the investment to save the banks while they have profited from the transaction... both ways...
Such a preferred position... and time for a bonus... record profits... based on the demise of so many Americans...
or dare we say ... "American dream'...

A decision to do nothing is not the status quo…
A decision to do nothing is not the status quo… to do nothing is a conscious decision to do something that carries its own set of consequences...
Mediocrity is a life without oscillations…
Mediocrity is a life without oscillations… a sinusoidal wave meets the centerline to climb and fall… to know the low is to appreciate the high.. for those who have never known the low cannot truly understand the high… for a flat line perhaps safe...
would merely be mediocre…

Lost wheels...
The end of an era... or perhaps just another error...
Life like a well crafted "esse" has many twists and turns...
Those familiar roads can be navigated easily with anticipation of what the next bend will bring...
It's the road not travelled that brings the unexpected... with experience as your teacher and your guide... you navigate as best you can to safely get to your destination...
After 28 years the R100RS will leave my charge... it's clear that we do not own anything in this world... we are only allowed to be the best steward that we can while we are here...

if you can...
This book has been an important guide in my small collection for over 40 years... written by a favorite and albeit unknowingly... a mentor... radio raconteur... they are touching but brief short stories of occurrences in one’s life that hold much significance when approached and viewed separately, but somehow have a greater significance and impact on ones consciousness when viewed as a part of the whole...
Life is a long song... full of many changes... some that you make... others that are made for you without your consent or agreement... changes that you can agree with and yet others that you may try to resist.. but changes none the less... a road travelled or less travelled with only one destination in mind...
How you make it there may not be quite what it seems or perhaps not what you thought it would be, whether you may like it... or not...
But get there you will...
if you can...

Google would know how many times you stopped to use the lavatory and then your kidney incontinence would be co...mmon knowledge along with your driving habits, locations... along with your evenings permeated with virtual gaming... why not have a virtual job and forget the car... or just a virtual life... let someone else live it...

Mr Martin outlined how the agency suffered "5,408 computer security incidents" between 2010 and 2011.
He also noted that "between April 2009 and April 2011, Nasa reported the loss or theft of 48 Agency mobile computing devices".
In one incident an unencrypted notebook computer was lost containing details of the algorithms - the mathematical models - used to control the International Space Station.

What is the job of a thought leader?
Here is a thought provoking conversation...
What is the job of a thought leader? Gretzky is a retired Canadian hall-of-fame hockey player who once said, "A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be." Valuable advice but overused, here in SoCal, to the point that it has become code for "trifler."
Response
Actually rather than Wayne Gretzky in So Cal I would think that there are dozens of boxes of little Lego's. A thought leader would have been steeped in the instruction set to build a Millennium Falcon from the little bricks accurately following the supplied directions.
When the directions ended up in the trash and the little blocks were disassembled and placed in a plastic zip lock bag it would be interesting to see if the same Millennium Falcon could be construed from the same inventory of plastic blocks.
Better yet it would be far more interesting to see something materialize with far more significant value constructed from the same inventory of little plastic blocks. Indeed that it did not even vaguely resemble the Millennium Falcon, but would have required a new set of instructions for someone without a Lego mentality to appropriately duplicate the new significant innovation if it were relegated back to the zip lock bag.
